Turkey Tail Liquid Culture

Turkey Tail mushrooms get their name from- you guessed it- it's distinctive looking marks that resemble a turkey's tail!

Turkey Tail is one of the most studied mushrooms in the World, namely due to two powerful complex carbohydrates it possesses: PSK and PSP. PSK is an approved adjunct therapy in Japan for use post chemotherapy for helping rebuild the immune system. PSP is known for it's anti-inflammatory properties.

As Turkey Tail is tough and chewy, the chitin needs to be broken down in order to consume it and benefit from it's properties. As such, most people tend to dry it and either use in tea, grind to a powder or use in a tincture.

Our Turkey Tail Liquid Culture contains pre-germinated spores from our master culture, so you can be sure you will receive a high-quality product.

Simply innoculate your spawn or substrate with the liquid culture and leave it to colonise. After 3-4 weeks it will be ready to spawn to bulk or fruit.

Growing Conditions

• Substrate: Hardwood, or hardwood supplemented with bran, hydrated to around 60%
• Colonise in dark conditions around 25c for optimal mycelium growth
• Fruit 18-24c in indirect sunlight or ambient light to encourage  primordia formation
• High humidity (over 80%) is needed for large, healthy fruits
