Golden Oyster Liquid Culture

Golden Oyster mushroom's have a slightly unusual taste for a mushroom- slightly nutty, some describe it as almost fruity. This sweet flavour along with it's yellow colouring makes it very popular to use in culinary dishes, alongside it's reputation for promoting wellness. They are rich in ergothioneine which is an antioxidant linked to lower risk of heart disease and are a rare plant source of Vitamin D.

When cooked they have a velvety texture and almost melt in your mouth, they are very good roasted or used in stews and curry dishes.

However, you will rarely find this mushroom in shops as it's such a delicate mushroom, meaning demand for Golden Oyster liquid cultures is high. 

Our Golden Oyster Liquid Cultures contains pre-germinated spores from our master strain, speeding up the growth process for you so you can enjoy these beauties quicker!

Simply inject the Golden Oyster liquid culture into your sterilised spawn or substrate and wait for colonisation. After 3-4 weeks your grain or substrate will be fully colonised and ready to spawn to bulk or fruit.

Growing Conditions

• Hardwood or 50/50 blend of hardwood and soy hulls (Masters Mix) hydrated to around 60%
• Colonise in dark conditions around 25c for optimum mycelium growth
• Fruit in indirect sunlight or ambient light 21-27c to encourage primordia formation
• High humidity (over 80c) is required for large healthy fruits
